This research dealt with the analysis of teaching challenges faced by English teacher in teaching disabled students. The objectives of the research were to describe problem faced by English teachers, factors caused the problems and solutions taken to face the problems. Descriptive qualitative method was applied in conducting this study. The data were taken from the English teachers who taught English at the VIII grade at SMPLB Negeri 1 Lombok Barat, province of West Nusa Tenggara, based on the observation, documentation and interview from August 9 until September 5, 2021. It was found that the challenges faced by the teacher in teaching there are of management class, Lack of communication between teachers and students, and Lack of reading and writing skills. It was also found the factors of causing the problems such as students have intellectual disability and teacher’s education background and physical. The solutions were found as using TPR method, double assistances and private assistant. Finally, this research finding could be useful for English teachers to teach English for mild intellectual disability in a better way despite the many challenges that probably appeared.

STUDENTS' ABILITY IN CONDUCTING POST-EDITING ON GNMT OUTPUT

Kemampuan mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris di Universitas Mataram belum terlalu mengenal adanya post-editing pada hasil terjemahan GoogleTranslate. Dalam melakukan post-editing, mahasiswa perlu dibekali dengan teori terjemahan di kelas selama perkuliahan semester ganjil 2021-2022.Meachine translation, dalam hal ini adalahGoogle Translate, yang terus berkembang karena komitmen klien, belum mampu secara terbuka untuk menafsirkan teks-teks logis, terutama teks-teks populer ilmiah yang dibutuhkan oleh mahasiswa, sementara kebutuhan mahasiswa untuk memahami teks di luar bahasa mereka sangatlah besar untuk pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan. Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk meneliti kemampuan mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Universitas Mataram untuk melakukan post-editing pada beberapa jenis teks yang diterjemahkan dengan Google Tramslate yang biasanya menghasilkan teks yang tidak terlalu bagus.Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelasserta data-data dikumpulkan melalui penugasan yang dinilai secara wajar sambil memberikan feedback pada hasil pekerjaan mahasiswa. Dalam melakukan post-editing tersebut mahasiswa dibekali dengan kemampuan semantik dasar mahasiswa yang dikombinasikan dengan otoritas hipotesis interpretasi yang melengkapi kemampuan mahasiswa menjadi modal penting siswa dalam mengubah efek lanjutan dari hasil GoogleTranslate. Eksplorasi ini dilakukan pada mahasiswa yang mengambil mata kuliah translationand interpreting. Mata kuliahini sengaja direncanakan sebagai studio pelatihan sehingga hipotesis dan praktik saling berhubungan untuk mendapatkan teks bahasa yang objektif danlaik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa mampu melakukan post-editing terjemahanGoogle Translate, meskipun belum terlalu sempurna. Sebagai rekomendasi penelitian ini, bahwa perlu rekonstruksi silabus untuk matakuliah terjemahan agar mengarah kepada praktis post-editing hasil terjemahan GoogleTranslate

Tulisanini merupakan hasil penelitian yang diarahkan untuk megetahui dan mengembangkan kemampuan mahasiswa S1 Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Universitas Mataram dalam menerapkan teori-teori terjemhan yang diajarkan di kelas untuk mengedit terjemahan hasil terjemahan onlineyang dalam hal ini menggunakan Google Translate. Google Translateyang terus berkembang dan semakin baik karena sumbangsih pengguna sampai saat ini belum dapat dilepas bebas untuk menerjemahkan teks ilmiah terutama teks akademik yang dibutuhkan mahasiswa, seperti artikel jurnal dan buku teks akademik. Beberapa jenis teks diterjemahkan dengan Google Translateyang hasilnya belum terlalu baik digunakan sebagai instrument untuk mengumpulkan data kemampuan mahasiswa menerapkan teori terjemahan dalam menyunting hasil terjemahan. Teks terjemahan tersebut memang masih perlu disunting untulk mendapatkan terjemahan yang sesuai dengan teks sumber. Kemampuan dasar linguistik mahasiswa ditambah dengan penguasaan teori terjemahan yang diajarkan menjadi modal dasar mahasiswa dalam menyunting hasil terjemahan Google Translate. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada mahasiswa yangmengambil mata kuliah translation.Mata kuliah ini sengaja dirancang sebagai workshop terjemahan agar teori dan praktik berjalan bersamaan dimana dalam setiap pertemuan ada teori yang dijelaskan dan kemudian mahasiswa diberikan tugas terjemahan yang disunting untuk mendapatkan teks bahasatarget yang baik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teori terjemahan masih belum mampu diterapkan dengan baik oleh mahasiswa sehingga hasil penyuntingan belum jauh berbeda dengan hasil terjemahan Google Translate. Beberapa teori masih belum dipahami dengan baik sehingga tidak dapat diterapkan dengan baik pula pada penyuntingan teks hasil terjemahan Google Translate.
